Exporting and Reporting

Standard Reporting

CATS comes with built-in, graphical, reporting capabilities that run at the click of a mouse. Standard reports for candidates, job orders, companies, and contacts are found under the Reports tab within CATS.

Custom Reporting
Under each of the main tabs (Job Orders, Candidates, Companies, and Contacts), your information will be listed in what we refer to as a data grid.

While these data grids serve as a great way to quickly view large amounts of data at once, they are also very powerful custom reporting tools. By using the Search and Add Filters features that are on top of each of these data grids, CATS users can filter the information displayed to get export data to Excel and CSV (comma separated value) formats for reporting purposes.

Exporting data to Excel (.xls) or CSV (.csv) Format

Once you've used the data grids to filter your data down to the point where you want to export it to Excel or CSV format for reporting purposes, here is what to do:

  1. Click on the Mass Action (# Results) drop-down box on the top right of the data grid.
  2. Select either Download as Excel or Download as CSV. (Note: Excel is limited to 5,000 rows of data, for larger exports it is recommended to use CSV format.)
  3. A screen will pop up for you to select which columns (fields) of data you want to export. Select the check boxes next to those fields and drag/drop them to choose the order that the columns are displayed in your Excel/CSV file.
  4. Click Continue and your data will be exported to the format you chose.
