New Features at CATS - Starting Today

The poster of the following message is an official representative of CATS.

1) You can now view a list of the applications associated with each job order right from the "Job Orders" tab. Just click the "Columns" button to bring up a list of available columns and check off "Applications". It makes it easy to review which job is displaying which app.

2) You can now set job applications for jobs en masse. From the "Job Orders" tab, check off the jobs you want to set the applications for (or use search + filters to narrow it down). Then click the blue "# of Results" drop-down on the upper right hand corner. Select" Set Job Applications". The functionality works similar to setting applications for a single job order. Just check the applications to include, drag and drop to change the order, and finally save the changes.

This makes managing applications for all of your jobs (especially if you're chaining together multiple applications) much easier.

3) When building job applications, you now have the option to break up questions into different pages. Just add a question, and change the field type to 'Page Break'. This field type is similar to 'Break' which allows you to break apart questions for better readability. When a user applies to a job application with multiple pages, a series of boxes will appear on the top right indicating what page they're currently on, and how many remain. The 'Submit' button text changes to 'Continue'. This allows users with very large applications to further break them up and reduce the overwhelming nature of applying to a job.

There are two caveats to this feature that we want to make you aware of. First, page breaks only work for single application job orders. If your job has multiple applications, you will need to combine them in order to use page break fields, otherwise they will be converted into regular breaks and ignored. With our "Import Questions" feature, combining applications is very easy. Second, page break fields only work in job applications -- not in candidate registration or when updating your profile through the careers website portal.

Another important part of this feature is how we handle required fields. Let's say that your application has 3 pages, the first asks for required information such as first name, last name and email and the remaining two pages asks optional questions. Once the applicant has entered all of the required information, they will immediately be silently added to CATS. That means that if a candidate completes the required fields then proceeds to the next page to find a slew of questions which causes them to close the window out of frustration, they will still be added to CATS so you don't lose the lead. This removes part of the worry many recruiters have when they ask themselves, "Have I asked too many questions?". Please note that no email verification will be sent out to the candidate unless they complete all the pages.

Great updates, especially page breaks on applications. Adds even more flexibility to an already flexible tool.
