Search function not returning data
Message

I converted to the professional account this am. Since then, I have not been able to search data from my candidate pool. I am the admin account and can't find any obvious reason why this is the case. It was working flawlessly until I converted to paying customer.

David,

Upgrading to professional will not change the way your candidates are indexed. I just ran some test searches on your account and things seemed to be working fine.

If you have just added a candidate, give the system approximately 15 minutes to fully index them and make them searchable.

Thanks Tony,

Still having issues....might be because I'm new to the product. In the past I could do a global search for a word and if it was enclosed in the candidate's information anywhere it would return on the search. For example, if I search on the term "supply", I currently get only one hit and its for the last candidate that I entered. There are multiple other candidates that have "supply" in their information. Once again, two days ago, I could search any term that I desired and get multiple hits with the search.

David,

We're working to make more improvements to our searching today that will allow for faster indexing and searches. I think these will help you out.

I'm still having issues with no data returned on searches. Started yesterday afternoon and has continued today. I can see all the candidates to start with and can manually move through their information but search does not work.

I have the same issue.

I have several resumes in the system with 'testing' or 'project' - yet nothing is returned via the search

UPDATE:

I've temporarily disabled the collection and indexing of new documents created this evening and have begun implementing new indexing procedures that we finalized today (they have been in development for a little over a week). I expect to have everything live late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Our old system was encountering slowdowns and index hangups with our recent surge of new users.

The new system will index documents faster, more often (every 5 minutes -- even for mass imports) and will be far more scalable as we grow.

There's nothing you will need to do once the update is complete. The new version is already collecting all data (including data from documents that you're adding tonight). Once it's switched on, searching will return to normal. I am actively working on implementing the changes and will make them live as soon as they're ready.

My apologies for not scheduling this maintenance, I hadn't realized that the indexing for new documents required to be disabled until just a few minutes ago.

Last note: This applies to resume keyword searching for newer documents. You will still be able to search older documents and do name/title searches in the mean time.

P.S.: Search operates the same no matter if you're a free or pro account, it was just a coincidence that this maintenance is taking place around the time of your upgrade.

This work is now complete, search should be back to normal.
